Cajon Basics Course
The foundational part. Learning all about the basic sounds, the proper hand placement & technique to play the cajon, how to tune your cajon, different types of cajons, stretching & warming up exercises, how to practice, and the correct seating position for a healthy posture.

Dedicated to taking you even further into the world of becoming a top class cajon player! In this section we learn a number of break & fill patterns and put them into context within our grooves. Cajonkit & Add-ons
Moving on to more intermediate & advanced levels as we dive into adding other drums & accesories to our cajon, such as the cymbal, the snare drum or djembe and a footpedal. Hi Heidi,
I am 73 yo, Dutch and live on the countryside of northern France. In a bar near me there are from time to time little concerts on small scale. One of them (base guitar, lead guitar end singer) asked me if I could play the cajon, because I told them I had drum lessons a long time ago. So I bought a cajon and started practicing. I am following the lessons of another Youtube teacher at the moment, but I also found your course on YouTube and I think, considering my age, that your lessons are perhaps more appropriate for me. On YouTube there are also a lot of videos in your playlist ‘modern method for cajon’. Could you tell what’s the difference between those method and your method here.

So awesome to hear you’re learning Cajon, it’s really fun, and yes my modern method is perfect for anyone who really wants to learn at a real step by step guided pace.
The Modern method videos on YouTube are only a preview of the actual course – to let people know about it, but it doesn’t contain the whole course at all and neither the full lessons, only parts thereof, and it is also not in the complete order I layout for optimal learning. Basically what’s on YouTube is a taster, so if you like it, then the full method starting with part 1 is absolutely perfect for you.

You convinced me, I will buy part 1 and give it a go. I will also continue the other course for a while, before I switch over completely. I don’t hesitate that your course is worth while, but I wonder if it’s ok for an old guy with not much confidence!

Before I make the payment just one simple question. There is a possibility to make a remark about the delivery. I suppose the delivery will be by e-mail isn’t it? I ask because I live in France, but I am now in Thailand for a few months.

About the ‘delivery’, you get instant access online via your email address, you get an account based on your email address you use to place the order, and with it a password which you can change, and then you can login and simply start with the lessons online directly from Thailand!!! 🙂

Yes of course, when you choose the download version you get to doynload the videos directly unto your device and will have them for life once downloaded! You have a whole year to download the videos, as well as a year access to view the videos on my website using your account.

I want to buy Modern Method access, but i am confused by the word “Lifetime” in the second payment option.

Does this mean, that the first option (without download) is not lifetime, and will be expired at some point? Also you call it “subscription”, which usually means service, required periodic payment (monthly, yearly), and not a one-time payment. But i can’t find any info about it. Is it one time payment, or periodic payment?

Both options give you unlimited access to the method Part 1, with no time restriction and no recurring payments! Subscription services (recurring payments option) will only become available once I have released the other parts of the Modern Method for cajon, but at present, it is simply a one off payment and you get unlimited access with no time restriction to Part 1. The word lifetime was used mainly because you get to have the full download of all the videos on your computer, but seeing that it can be confusing, I will be changing it! Thanks for your msg and for being interested in the my Modern Method for Cajon! 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions or need help with placing your order.

I’ve been trying for many years, but with my dyslexia (learning disability), everything went way too fast in other courses and it frustrated me a lot!

I am SO happy to hear that my Modern Method helps you to learn in a very simple way, that is the whole reason why I created it, so I am very happy to hear this! I hope you learn the first 2 grooves easily, there are actually a few more variations for each groove lesson that isn’t included in the free trial so I would definitely recommend you continue with the rest of the method once you have gone through the free trial. I am really enjoying Heidi’s modern method for cajon. The lessons are great – the pace is nice & easy. The grooves are terrific and there are play-along songs for each groove. They are nicely done, with Heidi on the cajon, a guitar and a bass. It’s great to have these songs to practice with, especially in COVID times when it’s so hard to find people to play with. I also love the energy and the sheer joy of the whole project – another lifesaver in COVID times! The only drawback is that it’s hard to get any work done when there is a cajon to play.
