Introductory Cajón Workshop with Heidi Joubert (“Queen of Cajón”)
Discover the rhythm within you in this inspiring and high-energy 3-hour cajón workshop with internationally renowned percussionist Heidi Joubert.
Never touched a cajón before? Perfect — this workshop is made for you. No experience needed, and everything is provided as we go.
What you’ll experience:
- Learn proper posture, hand technique, and essential cajón sounds
- Play your first grooves and rhythms
- Join a dynamic drum circle and jam with the group
- Explore musical breaks and creative expression
- Connect with others through rhythm, movement, and play
We’re hosted at the beautiful Stadsklooster Dordt — a lovingly restored monastery in the heart of Dordrecht, now a restaurant and events centre full of character. A very special room to play in.
This special Dordrecht edition is also part of the Big Cajón Blast Off Workshop series. ✨ A unique opportunity to learn directly from one of the world’s leading cajón educators.

It also helps me build towards my vision and dream: the iKamoya Foundation — a charity I am in the process of setting up, aiming to help children and families living in the most poverty-stricken conditions. iKamoya is not a formalised foundation yet, but it is on the way — and every single order helps build towards it.
