Music & projects

Collaborations + Travel

Across styles, genres, instruments and cultures — some of my favourite music has been made with other artists.

I love to collaborate.

Creating with other artists — across different sounds, cultures, instruments and countries — is one of my greatest joys. Here are a few of my favourites. If you would love to create together, get in touch below.

Frankfurt · the viral one

The Frankfurt S-Bahn session

A spontaneous jam on a Frankfurt S-Bahn train with Kiddo Kat — and a random passenger, Ozzy Lino, who couldn't help but jump right in. One of Heidi's best-loved viral moments.

Spain · pop & rumba

With Astola

Heidi joins Spanish pop and rumba star Astola in Spain — two worlds of rhythm coming together, warm and full of fire.

UK · cover

Say a Little Prayer

A cajon-and-voice take on the Aretha Franklin classic — stripped back, groovy and full of soul.

Germany · original

Smile Away the Pain

An original with composer and guitarist Christoph Zongen in Germany — a gentle song about smiling through the hard days.

New York · students

New York with Hurtwood House

Creating and performing in New York with the students of Hurtwood House College — passing the rhythm on to the next generation.

Worldwide · handpan

The Hangbox Project

Heidi's cajon, percussion and voice meeting hang drum (handpan) players from all over the world. Here are two of them.

The Traveling Box Diaries

Heidi has long dreamt of travelling for a set season to different countries, one after another — going from place to place, collaborating with musical people who follow her, and turning her vast online community into real, in-person community.

Journalling and filming the whole journey across her YouTube and social channels, creating an album from the collaborations, and performing live along the way — a dream to carry the cajon to a whole continent, country by country.

Please bear in mind Heidi is very busy — with Cajonbox, recording new albums, writing songs, giving workshops and lessons, and filming. These collaborations are not happening right now, given all the current priorities — but she is looking forward to doing more in the near future.

Are you in?

Would you like to collaborate with Heidi? Tell her a little about you — what you do, where you live and who you are — and she will add you to the possible collaborations list.
